Whole Wheat Honey Drop Biscuits

There’s something comforting about the way simple ingredients come together on a slow country morning. These tender little biscuits were a favorite in kitchens where nothing went to waste and every crumb had a purpose. A drizzle of honey, a smear of butter, or a scoop of jam turns them into the kind of treat that makes the whole house feel cared for.

Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl add the whole wheat flour, baking powder, and sea salt. Mix together to combine.
3. Add in the cubed cold butter and combine it with the dry ingredients using a pastry blender or your fingers (my favorite way!) until the flour turns into coarse crumbs.
4. Add the honey and milk and stir until just combined (no more flour streaks).
5. Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop the biscuit dough onto the parchment-lined sheet pan.
6. Bake for 13-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Enjoy a warm biscuit with a little butter and honey right out of the oven, or allow it to cool before serving.
